Triathlon NZ level 1 Coaching Course

WOW - I had a great weekend doing this. I was soooo nervous about going to it, but it was quite simply; fantastic!

I hardly slept a wink all night on Friday - I'm sure I had more sleep the night before Ironman, I was so wound up about it. Silly me - everyone told me not to be, and as usual I shoulda listened.

The presenters were the best. One has been around triathlon for a long long time, and he had so much information to give out. He was just a triathlon tap! It was fun to spend 2 days with other athletes just talking training, racing and general triathlon STUFF all weekend long - my all time favourite kind of weekend (hence the reason I love training camps so much).

There is still so many questions though. We could've spent another day doing it and there'd still be more. At the end of the day there is no right or wrong answer to compiling a training plan for an athlete - it's all about what works for each individual.

So, I have come back home with lots of reading to do, lots of googling to take place, and a few things that need to be completed and sent in so that I can get my accreditation. EXCITING STUFF I HAVE TO SAY...

Lots of motivation going on around me right now. Lots of plans, lots of whirring in the brain (and probably more sleepless nights wondering how I can save the world by telling them all to do triathlons!).

So, I am hoping to be accredited soon. Once that happens I want to set up some training sessions and hopefully grab a few clients who are wanting to do their first triathlon (gonna start with beginners and work my way up). Although it's not limited to triathlons. I can cope with fun runs or walks, or even a cycle race or swim event. So, if there is anyone who reads this who wants to give triathlon a go, and wants training plans and advice from a back-of-the-packer real person (not like those fast racey coaches who are out there - lol), then you can email me (you'll find the address under "view my complete profile" on the side bar). Of course, there's no point in me doing all this if I do it for free, so there would be a small fee involved, but I promise it will be small. Being a Mum in a family situation I know what it is like to have to budget every cent. But, I am going to try and provide some real "bang for your buck" as the saying goes.....

So, onwards and upwards. I am hoping eventually to change my career completely from boring number crunching, to helping people reach their fitness goals and start to feel good about themselves. I have a long way to go but it is a start. I am on the slippery slope into the triathlon dungeon, and will probably never return!!!!!!
