I have posted my assessment stuff away for the Triathlon New Zealand Level 1 Coaching accreditation. It is a huge relief that has quickly been replaced with NERVOUSNESS....
Did I do it right? Have I given them too much information? Did I waffle on in the way I do?
I HOPE I PASS....
Anyway, it seems that while I have been madly trying to sort this out, I have dropped the ball completely on training properly and eating well. I feel like an elephant, I can't fit anything, and I look at myself in the mirror and see BLOAT!
I have also been feeling rather knackered, under the weather, and slightly seedy for the last few days, so I decided I needed to make myself feel better somehow - so I had all my hair cut off! I have to admit that it has slowly been getting shorter since I finished Ironman, but it has now officially been cut SHORT.
Unfortunately it didn't change the fact that my jeans are too tight, and I have those bits that stick out over the top of your bra when "they" don't all fit in there properly sigh.....
On a positive note, I am training a lady towards her first triathlon in January. She is learning to swim, and is doing great. I have been poolside with her, and accompanied her on a bike ride to see how she is getting on. God I loved it. It felt really good to be helping her out and passing on my pieces of triathlon knowledge. It made going back to my "normal" job very sucky indeed! Oh well, the ideas are flowing, the wheels are in motion, and I am hoping that next year will see a humungous change in my life and career! Fingers crossed anyway.
The girls that I "coached" for my swim assessment have asked me to make it a weekly session, so I have. I had the first one last week and 1 came! Plus The Saint of course, but he HAS to come! This week should be better as they all had genuine reasons for not being there. It is supposed to be a casual thing, so if no-one comes, well I go home!!!! But it will be great practise for me IF YOU GIRLS (and boys are allowed too) DECIDE TO SHOW UP!!!!! haha. Seeing as the weekends for most people are quite big in terms of training volume, the sessions are just easy using drills and short swim sets. If you are in the Tauranga area and fancy joining in, then come along to Otumoetai Pool at 4pm on a Saturday - be nice to have you!
Other than that I am just sitting on my ever expanding butt watching the most gorgeous bodies in the world battle it out at the Olympics. I had no idea that the sport of diving had such ripped men! The thighs on them are amazing, and the abs.... oh the abs.... anyway, while I sit and drool and gain weight, they are all performing amazing feats of athleticism, and it is fantastic to watch. Almost inspiring, but I still don't move from the couch.... And that swimming machine Phelps, well isn't he amazing. Although, hand on heart, proud Kiwi and all that, Moss Burmester did try his best to kick his butt in 200m Fly - did us all proud he did, unfortunately not enough for a medal. What is it with these games anyway? World records are just being smashed like plates at a Greek wedding! TOTALLY FREAKISH!
Oh well, I guess I better get up tomorrow and at least pretend like I am training for 2 half ironmans!!!!! The weather here is CRAP ALL THE TIME! Rain rain go away........ not making for very good motivation of getting out of my warm bed I have to say. I kind of got over all that training through winter for Ironman last year. But, it seems the comfort food has caught up with me and I must away now and organise myself for a gym session and a run in the rain! Even thunder and lightening is forecast - oooooh goody!

K--I'm so happy for you! Things really seem to be going in the right direction. You are going to be an awesome coach!
Keeping my fingers crossed for the test results. I trust you did wonderful. The lady you are coaching is so lucky to have you as her coach.
Congrats on sending in your training materials! I'm sure it will go well. You're obviously having fun with it and that's worth a lot.
O wind , why do you never rest,
Wandering, whistling to and fro,
Bring rain out of the west,
From the dim north bringing snow?
