Not enough time in the day

I feel like I am running crazy at the moment. It's been a while since posting and there is so much to say, yet I can't really be bothered. Nice huh. I will try though - bullet points are always good for times like this.

lets see..... what's the haps....

* Went to Auckland for the weekend to meet up with the people that were sponsored, and the sponsors, with me at Ironman NZ. The book is apparently due out at the end of September, so will keep you posted on that.

* The weather was so bad that I stayed in Auckland an extra day so that I didn't have to drive home in the dark and pouring rain. Can't see!! Not good. So, a day off work and school for me and the kiddly winks. Watched Cat Woman - Halle Berry is all kinds of stunning!

* I really really want to start getting some triathlon clients and planning for the summer. Struggling to find the time to sit down peacefully and do this in amongst the training, working and kid stuff. This may be harder than I first imagined. I need a cool catchy name, a website, a pricing schedule, a training schedule, marketing material, SOME CLIENTS! Good things come to those who plan and wait I'm sure.

* I got "interviewed" last week for an article in our Triathlon Club newsletter - wot with me being the FEMALE TRIATHLETE OF THE YEAR and all (just in case you forgot). So, get ready Tri Tauranga for that wee masterpiece - hehe.

* Work is boring - nuff said.

* I finally moved into the Millenium and got me an iPod. I know I know - how have I trained without one? Well, the idea was that seeing as you aren't allowed them in Ironman, there wasn't much point in relying on it to get me through those bits when your feet hurt and your head says stop. Now though, well I need some sort of motivation to run 5kms these days, so I gave in - LUV IT; LUV IT - that iTunes is AMAZING; AMAZING (you get the idea).

* The Olympics are over thank goodness. Need to do some housework.

* I am looking into getting my Swimming NZ coach certification next. Don't know when the HECK to fit that in amongst every other god damn thing, but I will give it a nudge and see what happens.

* I am trying to set up a swim squad (very casual) on a Saturday afternoon - I do believe I have said this before on here, so at risk of repeating myself.... come along and join in if you wish. 4pm at Otumoetai Pool - obviously bring your togs and swim toys (we love toys) and jump on in. I won't laugh I promise, just to give "encouragement" and "helpful advice" is the name of this game.

* What else..... hmmmmm.... the kids have come up with some choice vocabulary lately, which is just doing my head in. How about "that's so gay" or "you're a homo" or "random" - everything is "random" wtf???? They have no idea what gay or homo means and I'm not about to explain it just yet, so quietly reminding them to be polite is the way to go... boys, they love anything to do with toileting too - YUKKY creatures!!

* WE GO ON HOLIDAY IN 5 WEEKS!!!! Yeehaa........... Sunny; warm; beaches; theme parks; togs; sand; maybe even some vino - can't wait!

* Oh yeah, and I have been training. I have started with a new Coach and told him (him, I got a him - unbelievable), anyway I digres. I told him I wanted to be pushed out of my comfort zone as I needed some self confidence in my own training so that I could do my own tri coaching confidently - get it? Well, this morning I was so far out of comfortable I thought I was gonna die! I had to do Max Heart Rate testing this week on the bike and running. The bike I think I could have gone harder, so might try some other stuff on the weekend ride and see what happens.

The run today was 1hr 10mins including 3x 6mins 30secs uphill repeats. The last one was to be as hard as I could with the last minute at a sprint! SPRINT, I don't DO sprint - and definitely NOT at the top of a hill. But I did it. My avg HR for the last 6:30 was 170, with a max of 179! I was heaving so bad at the top I thought I was going into oxygen failure. I still had 20mins to run and it was hard!!! Thankfully I am now on rest until Saturday morning. Love it love it tho. Feels great to work so hard you want to puke!!

Anyways, that's me for now.

The sun is meant to shine for the rest of the week and into the weekend, and I am looking forward to climbing Reid Rd - twice - power of positivity does wonders!!!

Happy iPodding peeps.....

I just love my Ipod Shuffle. And ITunes! Congrats on the new coach and the hill work. Hill work is never fun -- at least I don't think so. :-)

I am so jealous! I don't have an ipod! I've asked for one for my birthday, so we'll see what happens.

What a fantastic run test! You asked for you. WOW are you going to make some progress.

What does the bee do?

Bring home honey.

And what does Father do?

Bring home money.

And what does Mother do?

Lay out the money.

And what does baby do?

Eat up the honey.
