I am sitting here, typing this, trying to muster up enough enthusiasm to get myself organised for an event today. It is the last run in the Xterra Off Road Run series. Today is 17kms of forest/trail running. The info email we got says that this weeks course has some mean downhills, which can only mean there are also mean UPhills. sigh....
I am not up to it. I have bad PMS/cramps/attitude, and after 10 days on holiday and 5 very busy days back at home/work, I am just not ready to run that far. My gut is bloated (from said PMS), so the fuel belt feels tight, and I have chaffing from yesterdays bike ride (of only 1hr 20mins I might add - my butt has gone soft!) sigh....
It is the boys 8th birthday tomorrow - I don't know where those 8 years have gone. I look at them now and see young men not cute babies. On our holiday we went shopping quite abit, and somewhere in there Blake developed a like for Billabong/Rip Curl and all things Nike and Adidas (wonder where he got those 2 from??). He is a label bashing surfer dude now, not a Ben 10/ Pokemon kind of kid (at least not on his clothes). Liam is still set on becoming a vet when he grows up and we thought we'd take a look at a university prospectus to make sure his schooling is going in that direction - AT EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!!! Oh my, what pushy parents we are!!!
Anywhooo, I feel old when I look at them, and yet I'm not. We purposely had them young so that they are off our hands while we are still young enough to travel the world and enjoy it. The idea was to then go to France/Italy/Spain and sip wine and eat gorgeous food - now we want to travel the world doing Ironman races - oh how things change!
So, I s'pose I better get my sh!t together and get organised for my race. sigh....
I'll tell you all about it later!
