This was the final run in the series, and I have to say it was really enjoyable considering my lack of inspiration for it this morning.
The run was tough though - the first 40mins were just uphill! Honest to god, hands on knees, huff puff pant - UPHILL. It had started lightly raining at the start which carried on through the uphill section, but not enough to be annoying. In the cover of the forest you really didn't notice it much, it was only when you came to a wider track that you got wet.
There was a very large steep downhill section that was a bit rough to descend. It looked like earth works machines had been in there - it was all clay with big gauges out of the path. Very slippery under foot, and it was only time before someone (mwah) went down - thankfully not that bad, it's just dirt!
Next was a river crossing - lol, it was really a creek you could jump over, but it was fun to say!
Single track through the bush, up and down abit more and we were done. It was a great run, tough to start but enjoyable to finish. The distance was supposed to be 15-16kms but there is no way in hell we did that in our time of 1hr49mins. We walked too much to be that fast. My foot pod said 11.5kms which is not really far at all (the light was flashing red which means a flat battery, so it MUST have been short). So we will go with the 13kms we heard someone else reckon it was!!! A little more like our speed for hill climb walking & bush running today.
So, after my slow sluggish start, I really did enjoy it - alot. There's nothing better than being out in the fresh air, the peace and quiet, and being at one with nature!!! lol that is so corny but hey, it is actually true (you can stop laughing now!)

Glad you enjoyed it. After reading this morning's post I didn't think your heart was going to be in it. Sounds like you had a great time! :)
I'm interested in doing more trail running soon. I think it will be easier on my knee and I'm totally with you on that being one with nature thing. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it and got out there and did it! I would love to run a trail through a forest.
Fun! Sounds similar to my run yesterday (except we had a bit more rain) Great job getting it done even though you weren't "feeling it"
I love trail running too. The pretty scenery helps when you are suffering up a hill!
