We did have to duck home for Paul to do a quick triathlon, but other than that we just ate, drank (it wouldn't be Xmas after all would it??), walked loads, saw thousands of glow worms, got bitten by sandflies, threw frisbees, played cricket, and slept on an airbed that was flat by midnight! CAMPING, you can't beat it.
I hope verybody enjoyed their Xmas as much as we did - HAPPY NEW YEAR too.
Here's our Xmas in photos....

The kids opened "santa" presents at home before we left for camping.
Our campsite - My Dad and his wife in the campervan, my nephew in one tent, the kids in another, and Paul and I in another.
The kids with my Dad and my nephew, building a dam. It actually did work, with the water level in the pond rising quite abit over the weekend.
Taking a rest stop on one of our mammoth walks.
Some baby wildlife for you animal lovers.
Paul and Blake - I just liked this photo.
A small waterfall in the park. The walk up to it is where you go to see the glow worms. Very creepy bush walking in the dark, but the glow worms were incredible.
A stupid tree with the kids under it.
The view from the top of a mother hill we walked up.
The swim was at a surf beach with a run up the sand in between 2 laps - pure EVIL!
Paul heading out on the bike - it was a drafting race so he did some stupid ridiculous average speed of 40kms/hour - I hate him....
Paul looking good as he heads out on the run.
Sam Warriner (World #1) competed. She is doing the Half Ironman I am doing in 11 days. She rode the bike leg with a flat tyre!
Paul finishing the tri with a 400m run on the sand - that is just pure EVIL again!!
The 15year old I was coaching finishing his first triathlon - he did have some bother with the swim (cut it short), and was sick on the run due to an overload of sea water. Needless to say he was not thrilled with triathlon and has gone back to rowing - at least he gave it a go!!!

Wow- looks like a great Xmas!! And nice work Paul!
Gorgeous photos! I am so jealous of being able to camp at Christmas without a serious investment in cold weather gear. Someday I must spend a Christmas in NZ!
What a great holiday :) Happy new year to you!
Camping on Christmas! Awesome! Can't do that here....tooo cold....brrrrr
Loved all the pics Kathy! I was all well the kiwi does not get a white Christmas but neither do in this hot Texas! LMAO!
Great job on the Rotunda 1/2! I loved the list especially the peeps who suck doing their second lap while we are on our first. Good thing New Orleans 70.3 is point to point, but all that means is I will run by myself, hehehe!
You and yours have a safe blessed 2009!!
Hello from Minneapolis USA. I am getting in shape this year. I am going to read your blog and you and I are going to be friends.
I don't even know where to start with my comment!
The bike looks awesome! But YOU look incredible on it! Holy cow! All PRO!
I'm also very jealous of the camping. It's so miserable here right now. To go Camping over the holidays would be awesome.
